Hello, your luffly and currently hyperactive admin Rose here. ;D
'Tis time to read the rules. o3o
Rule numbah one; No ch@t$p3@k/n00bspeak/733t/whatever when in character. USE CAPITALIZATION, GOOD SPELLING, AND PROPER GRAMMAR, PEOPLES!!! The occasional "lol" or "brb" on the c-box or in OoC is fine, though, so go nuts in either. ;D
Rule numbah two; If you PP or GM, Keana will sic her insane grunts on you. >D
Oh, and PPing is short for Power Playing, when you take control of someone else's character. Like so:
"Machop punched Meowth in the face, causing him to go flying into a tree. Meowth cried out and ran to hide behind his trainer."
This is something you might want to do instead:
"Machop suddenly balled his hand into a fist and aimed a punch at Meowth."
Then the person you're role playing with could go:
"Meowth was hit, and sent sprawling, but quickly got up and continued fighting."
Yay for not Power Playing!
Now, GMing, or God Moding, is when you, well, play God, basically. Example:
"It suddenly started to rain, upping the strength and effectiveness of Buizel's Water Gun."
Only mods, g-mods and admins can make it rain or get sunny! D:<
Even if your character's Pokemon just used Rain Dance or Sunny Day, you have to wait for your thread's moderator to say that it started to rain.
And now, finally, we may move on to
Rule numbah three; Be nice to the other members. NO STARTING FLAME WARS, DANGIT. D< If one of the members said something rude to you, don't retort and thus start a flame war. Tell an admin, mod, or g-mod, and we'll take care of it by giving the member a little "penalty." ;D (And by "penalty" I mean having Cana attack them mercilessly and chase them around the forum. >D) So no saying rude things to other members, or you'll get the penalty. -grins evilly-
Rule numbah four; Most trainers in the Caliga Region are gifted with the ability to understand Pokespeak, so when you're role playing one, the character's Pokemon's dialogue can be put in English instead of the Pokemon's name. But it has to be in between these little squiggly lines (~~) instead of quotation marks. The squiggly line key looks something like this (yes I made this in paint):
![[image]](http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc198/Vanessa_Doesnt_Care/squigglylinekey.png)
Obviously, you'll have to hold down the shift key to actually get the squiggly line.
Rule numbah five; No bad words. There are word filters on the site, but their translations are a bit... odd. >_> Example:
B i t c h(put in spaces so as not to be translated by the word filter) = pregnant dog
See what I mean? Please, just don't swear, or if you absolutely must, censor it yourself like so: What a *****.
Rule numbah six; Violence. C'mon, we know that Pokemon battle each other and get hurt and need to be taken to Pokemon Centers, but there's no need to get graphic. Don't post stuff like this:
"Meowth's Scratch attack left a deep gash across Machop's stomach. He groaned and his bloody innards spilled out over the ground as-"
Ugh. I really don't want to continue with this bit. Do you want me to continue with this bit? Didn't think so.
Rule numbah seven; Don't disobey the mods, g-mods, admins, or basically the staff in general. If a mod thinks you're God Moding to win a battle, they reserve the right to God Mode back and make you instantly lose. If you're really upset with a moderator, global moderator, or co-administrator, then PM me about it, don't start a big loud argument with them.
Rule numbah eight; No Mary Sue/Gary Sue characters. If your character is a Mary Sue or Gary Sue, it basically means that your character is perfect, or close. It also sometimes means a character that everyone will feel sorry for.
For example, someone who has TONS of money, looks cuter than humanly possible, and always knows what to say all witty-like. Everyone has their quirks, and it is better if your character has them too, to make them feel real instead of out of some storybook perfect world. The 'Feeling sorry for them' type would be like if somebody was in the perfect family with everything they wanted but then their parents died, or they were beautiful but then morphed and everyone considered them a freak. If the character was, say, the son or daughter of a famous Pokemon Professor or Gym Leader, and then got turned into a weird-looking Pokemorph, but didn't seem to care that much about it, it's not a Mary Sue or Gary Sue. A Mary Sue/Gary Sue would say stuff like "I used to have everything, and now my life is ruined" and act all 'Have pity on me'. The main message here is: NO PERFECT CHARACTERS OR CHARACTERS THAT MAKE YOU TAKE MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF PITY ON THEM.
Rule numbah nine; Pokemorphs. Pokemorphs are normal humans who were captured and experimented on by some random Team, like Team Rocket or Team Magma, etc., and basically turned half-Pokemon. They bear some of the features of their respective Pokemon, such as a tail, claws, or ears. They're able to turn into their respective Pokemon, use attacks the Pokemon are capable of learning, and participate in wild Pokemon battles. But NOT trainer battles.
Last but not least,
Rule numbah ten; Don't post in a role play until your character is accepted, and make sure the password which can be found in these rules is on the character's profile. (Hint: There are 32 letters in the password.)
