It was then Sulteron realised Ranat probably wouldn't make it through this. After all, he was on level 6, and that Espeon looked as though it was on level 11. Not much, but Ranat was seriously tired. He was panting, but still going strong. "Try to outrun it! Quick Attack!" came the results of her thoughts.
Ranat charged with surprising speed, matching Espeon's twists and turns. He could do this- maybe!

Espeon blinked, surprised at Ranat's unnatural speed and agility, then jumped to the side, out of the way.
"Espeon, use Confusion." Luna said. Espeon nodded to her trainer, then concentrated her thoughts the way Ralts had done before.

Ratan swayed... once... twice... and crashed to the ground. Sulteron gasped, reaching for his Pokeball. Returning him in the fimiliar flash of red light, she did not reach for another. Instead, she waved the Growlithe at her side out onto the battle.
Hinata's lip curled up, flashing dangerously sarp fangs with a snarl. She gradually grew to a howl of battle. Her fur brislted, and her coat shone with the excitement of the battle.
"Bite!" cried Sulteron. Hinata leapt high into the air, open maw grinning intimidatingly at Espeon as she fell back down to earth, charging the foe.

"Dodge it and use Confusion again!" Luna shouted. Espeon attempted to jump out of the way as it had when dodging Ranat's Tackle, but she had already gotten used to the rather slow movements of the Rattata, and Hinata's jaws closed on her back.
~Nn!~ Espeon grunted, pained and annoyed. She used Confusion anyway, focusing her thoughts into a single blade to stab at Hinata's mind.
(A much more poetic description of Confusion, no?)

Hinata's face screwed up in an ugly grimace as the stab of pain caught her between the eyes. Staggering left and right, she wished it would just go away! Then- it did. The attack was over, as it should have been. A dull throbbing in between her ears, she got back to her feet, lowered her head, and glared and the sneaky opponent.
"Bite again!" Sulteron knew the attack wasn't likely to work, but, since Hinata was at level 5, it was the only damaging attack she knew.
Hinata moved one way, feinting that the attack would come in that direction. Then she, in the blink of an eye, rushed the other way and prepared to once more taste the soft flesh of the Espeon.

Espeon did not dodge Hinata's feint, but went towards the Growlithe. The same as a dodge from an attack coming from the other direction.

Sulteron smiled, waving a hand over her own jewel. "You might just have some competition, then." she said. Her sixth sense may not be as strong as any Psychic Pokemon's, but she could try. Receiving nothing, the Espeon 'morph just focused on the battle. Being sure to block her mind from Espeon, she thought that she should not, as previous, try anything that might backfire, but something that would hit... Well, for now, Hinata might think of something. Sulteron opened a channel of thoughts between her and the Growlithe, being sure to keep it hidden from Espeon.
Hinata seemed confused. Why was her trainer not giving her any orders? Hinata? Hinata, this is Sulteron, think it if you can hear me. Hinata nearly leaped out of her skin as her trainer's voice sounded in her head. Looking back a her trainer, she saw a discreet nod. It was her! Hinata, Espeon can see the future with it's jewel. It should be able to predict every attack, including this one. But while it's still trying to See, since it won't hear this, I want you to use Bite. Bite on it's jewel, maybe temporarily stopping from reading the future! Hinata winked back at her trainer, leaping at Espeon as fast as she could. She had to hit...

Espeon stared at Hinata, puzzled as to why the Growlithe had suddenly flinched and then looked back at her trainer. The Psychic was just as surprised when Hinata lunged at her without warning. Espeon had no time to dodge, and Hinata's Bite hit its target.
"Eess!!" Espeon cried aloud. An Espeon's jewel is the most sensitive spot on its body, and also the most vulnerable. The attack cut Espeon's health by at least half, despite her high level.
"Espeon, counter with Confusion again!" Luna said. She subconsciously noted that she desperately needed to get some TMs and expand her Pokemons' range of moves.
Espeon once again thrust her spear of thoughts towards Hinata.

Urgh, not that stabbing pain again, was Hinata's lastthought before they were overwhelmed by the Confusion.
Sulteron didn't like this Espeon one bit. "Hinata, Bite!" it was kind of obvious that was the attack to use, since it was the only offensive one the Growlithe knew.
Hinata, once her smarting head cleared, leapt at the Espeon, this time aiming for it's flicking tail.
